BBQ FUNDRAISER FOR FALLEN CHP SERGEANT

RIVERSIDE, CA – The Riverside Police Officers’ Association (RPOA), in partnership with the Riverside Police Department, San Bernardino Police Officers’ Association, San Bernardino Employees Benefits Association, Redlands Police Officers’ Association, Fontana Police Officers’ Association, Riverside City Firefighters Association Local 1067, and Sandals Church, are having a barbeque fundraiser in honor of Fallen California Highway Patrol Sergeant Steve Licon. Sergeant Licon was assigned to the Riverside Area station at the time he was killed in the line of duty on April 6, 2019, while on a traffic stop along the Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore. On behalf of the men and women membership of RPOA and our Riverside community, we offer our sincerest condolences to Steve’s family and are grateful for the honorable service he gave to us.

Our BBQ fundraiser will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It will be held at the Riverside Police Department’s Field Operations station located at 8181 Lincoln Avenue, directly across from the CHP – Riverside station. For a minimum donation of $20, you will receive a BBQ lunch and beverage. But if you want to donate more, we are happy to accept any amount higher than $20.

Due to the support for the Licon family, we are anticipating a large attendance and are prepared to serve for the 3000+ people expected to attend. The event is open to the public, so please share with your friends and family. Parking will be available along Lincoln Avenue between Adams Street and Jefferson Street, and there will be a Riverside Police mini-bus to shuttle attendees every few minutes, if needed.

We have an amazing team of volunteers and law enforcement supporters working diligently on this event. We also welcome everyone to come meet some of the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. Please consider making a donation for the sacrifice Sergeant Steve Licon and his family gave for OUR community and enjoy a BBQ lunch… on us!

If you cannot attend this event but still want to give, we urge you to directly contact RPOA at (951) 784-1034 and your donation can be taken over the phone. Checks can be made out to the “RPOA Assistance Fund.”

The Riverside Police Officers’ Association is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization under Tax ID# 45-4589118.
