Honor Guard

Forever with Honor

Honoring the Fallen. Supporting the Living.

The Riverside City Fire Honor Guard was established in 1995 with a mission to represent the department with the highest standards of discipline and honor at ceremonial functions. The Honor Guard serves with profound respect and dignity during funeral services for both active and retired personnel, offering comfort and compassion to the families and loved ones of the fallen. By performing with professionalism and pride at local, state, and national events, the Honor Guard fosters a positive image of the department and its members.

The team is dedicated to honoring fallen firefighters, their families, and department members, both past and present. The Honor Guard participates in a variety of events, including presenting the colors at civic ceremonies such as parades and community gatherings, as well as at departmental events like graduations, promotions, and award ceremonies. They also organize and perform at funeral and memorial services for department personnel, while providing support to other agencies at similar ceremonies.

Members of the Honor Guard represent the Riverside Fire Department and Local 1067 at prestigious state and national events, including the California Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Sacramento, the International Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Colorado Springs, and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Through their unwavering commitment, the Honor Guard exemplifies the values of service, sacrifice, and remembrance.
